Halloweeny stuff.

So my father in law called yesterday saying my husband's sister and her family were going over there to carve some pumpkins and asked if we wanted to join in. We said yes, plus the hubby wanted to work on the motor for the race car (fingers crossed that it'll be done in time for racing next season). So we loaded up our pumpkins, except the 2 little ones that Lyla dropped like a frajillion times! I was going to just use those as decoration. Here are some pics from the day..

 Lyla with her pumpkin

 My niece Chloe
 Parker, my nephew.
Lyla scooping out "pieces of gold"! That's what she called the seeds.
 My niece Carissa
My husband Adam.. I get a lot of pics with that look.
 My pumpkin
 Adam's pumpkin
Carissa, still doing the outlining. (we're the only 2 that used a template)
Lyla enjoying her Halloween cupcake from Grandma and Grandpa.
Carissa arguing with Uncle Adam. She's 14, it's what she does best.
Lyla's pumpkin.. I gave it lashes and devil horns.

I also got the idea from my mother in law, who is pretty crafty also, to paint the little pumpkins! So I painted spiderwebs and spiders on them!

I thought they turned out pretty cute. And of course I had to roast pumpkin seeds! Can you believe Adam has never had roasted pumpkin seeds before?!

(Sorry for the picture overload)

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween tomorrow!

  5. Looks like you all had fun craving your pumpkins, they all turned out good. I like the spider web one you used paint? I have never cooked the pumpkin seeds, but thinking I should because they are yummy.

  7. Julia, yes I used the puffy paints, like the stuff you use on t-shirts.

  8. Those are some pretty amazing pumpkins! I suck at carving, and refuse to do so unless I'm forced, because my pumpkin always comes out looking ridiculous.
