My Crunchy Transition! Part 3

I don't know what I was thinking last Friday.. It was  a super nice, sunny day. Lyla was at school so Buck and I decided we were going to go to Costco since there was a few things on sale their that we needed. Bad idea! It was crazy there! I had to drive around for about 5 minutes to find a spot to park. We finally get inside and it's a zoo inside. Sooo many people. So many rude people. Of course a few of the items were at the back of the store. While on the way back there I started feeling claustrophobic from all the people and my heart was starting to beat faster.. Anxiety attack on the way.

I've recently gotten into essential oils as a natural alternative to medicines. In this situation I would've probably taken a xanax or left the store without getting what I needed. Instead I used a blend of DoTERRA essentail oils; one called Serenity and one called Balance. I rubbed a bit behind each ear and a little on my wrists. Then I took a drop of Peppermint and a drop of Wild Orange rubbed them together in my hands and inhaled really deeply and counted to 10 and started to feel more focused and was able to quickly get the few things I needed and vowed to never go back there on a Friday!

Have you tried essential oils? Are you interested in more info about them? I could point you in the right direction to get info.

What They Wore- Birthday Party Edition

Lyla's BFF turned 5 this week and had a Frozen birthday (of course! What little girl isn't Frozen obsessed?). And obviously Lyla needed to be all dolled up! Thankfully I had a 40% kids apparel coupon AND a 5$ off 25$ apparel coupon for Target to get her some cute new duds! Target has sooo much cute stuff for girls right now! I need to win the lottery.

 Dress: Target
Leggings: TCP
Boots: Carters

Doesn't she look pretty! haha..

Happy Wednesday Y'all!

Meet Zoe!

We got a puppy! She's part Scottish terrier, shepard, lab and border collie and 10 weeks old! We already love her so much. The kids just adore her and they're her BFF's! Even our old American Bulldog loves her.

Any puppy tips?

Easter Eggs!

I always let Lyla dye at least a dozen eggs with the Paas egg dying kits but this year I decided I wanted to do something more "fancy" and of course with Pinterest that's possible. Here are a few things I think I want to try..

There are a bunch of different ideas on the Better Homes and Gardens Blog but the one in the picture is the one I want to do.

This one I'm going to let Lyla help with.. McCormick Egg Dying chart

And this one has so many I don't even know which ones to choose!!

I can't wait to do these and have a little fun with my big girl!

SimplySooney {REVIEW}

I've recently been looking for natural alternatives to everyday products I use, I.E. toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, make up, etc.. Well, lucky me, I have a friend on Instagram that makes and sells tooth powders and of course I jumped at the chance to review her stuff!

I was honestly a little bit nervous about trying it because I didn't know if it'd be gritty or gross but it wasn't!! It wasn't bad at all. I've used the regular one, the sensitive one and the kids sweet peppermint and they all work really well. My teeth felt clean all day, even after I ate, which doesn't happen with regular toothpaste. You just wet your toothbrush, dip it in the powder, brush and rinse your mouth a few times!

All of her tooth powders are vegan, organic and fluoride free. So much better for you than commercial toothpaste! So please go to SimplySooney on Etsy and order some today!

Have you tried a tooth powder or an all natural toothpaste? What did you think?

What They Wore

A couple months ago I won a gift certificate to this cute shop on Etsy that makes handmade clothes for kids called Primrose and Pirates. It took me forever to decide what I wanted to order and finally decided on this adorable halter top for Lyla!

Top: Primrose and Pirates Bottom: The Childrens Place

Don't mind the eyeliner on her face, she needs some face paint or something and I need to hide my eyeliner!

I have a little bit of credit left for her shop and I can't wait to order some more stuff!

DIY Gifts

We have a lot of family, which means a lot of birthdays! I don't really think it's completely practical to go out and buy a present for every member of your family. I do buy stuff for our nieces, nephew and young cousins but the older cousins, aunts, uncles, etc I've been using Pinterest to come up with some awesome DIY gifts!

For my niece (17) I did a face scrub.
1/2 cup unrefined coconut oil
1/2 cup organic sugar
1/4 brown sugar
10 drops Doterra Wild Orange essential oil
10 drops Doterra Peppermint essential oil

To make it easier to mix up I put the coconut oil in a small bowl, put hot water in a little bit bigger bowl and put the small bowl in it (careful not to get water in the small bowl). Mixed it all up and put it in a cute little jar with a label that said how to use it. It smelled sooooo good.

My mother in law's birthday is coming up and I plan to make her this foot soak!

Have you made any fun gifts lately?

Hey there!

Hey! I took a little hiatus for my daughter's spring break. She got an extra day off because of school conferences, which went great! The teacher thinks she's doing really well, says she talks about her little brother all the time and that she wants her to start learning how to read!!

For spring break we had all these plans for things we wanted to do, things outside. Well, this is Oregon so yeah, we had one nice day the whole week. We ended up going to the movies with friends one day to see The Muppets Most Wanted. The rest of the days were spent at home, crafting, watching Frozen and just playing. It was nice but I can't wait for better weather, play dates, hiking, vacations and FUN!

How did you and your kids spend spring break?
