Pinterest Fail.. Sorta.

I woke up with a sweet tooth today and I knew that we had a few tubes of crescent rolls in the fridge so I scoured my dessert board on pinterest and found 2 I wanted to try..

The resurrection rolls say to use large marshmallows and I only had mini so that might've been part of the problem. The reason I say it's only a "sorta" fail is because they still tasted pretty good. I just hope my nice expensive cookie sheet isn't ruined!

Here's mine..
The leaky ones are the resurrection rolls..

I haven't gotten to try to many things from pinterest but it's kinda fun to try and see if you can do them just as good! Have you had any pinterest success or fails?

Rainy Day Fun

Spring in Oregon is usually raaaaiiiinnny!! So with a 4 year old who loves to play outside and DOES NOT like when she can't I have to find things for her to do inside. I usually go to Joann's Fabrics and buy a bunch of kids crafts once a month or so but I've also been scouring Pinterest for fun indoor activities.

These look pretty easy and fun! Plus Lyla loves to watch birds.

Six Sisters has a list of 101 cheap, easy and fun indoor activities that really sound like a lot of fun! They also have a printable version at the bottom of the list!

Lyla loves to paint, glue, cut stuff so I think she'd like this! Add color to glue.

And one of number 1 favorite things to do is play with playdo! But of course she never puts it away or puts the lid on all the way so it dries out and we have to buy more. Well that gets expensive so we're going to have to try this recipe for making some that my lovely blogger friend Rebecca tried! Jello playdough!

Have you tried any of these or do you have any more fun ideas?

First trip to the dentist!

I really have no idea what "the right" age is to take your kids to the dentist but we only got Lyla dental insurance in October and it was all screwed up until recently so she was finally able to go and I have to say I wish I had taken her like a year ago when she wasn't so defiant! She argued, got mad at me and then freaked out when we tried to get her to lay back on the chair. Even bribery didn't work. We ended up doing the exam with her sitting in my lap facing me and laid her back so her head was in the dentists lap. We decided not to do a cleaning, just counted her teeth, checked for cavities and made sure her finger sucking isn't causing any problems. Thankfully she has no issues! We'll be trying another strictly kid dentist/practice in a few months for a cleaning. If you have any questions about when to start taking your kid I think the earlier the better.

What's in a middle name??

My middle name is Lee.. So, Jennifer Lee.. Want to know why? Because my mom wanted me to be a country singer! Forget that I don't have a country accent and we're from Oregon though! Crazy lady was obsessed with Patsy Cline.

Lyla's middle name is Cynthia. I chose her middle name because it's my sisters name. She's one of my best friends and a very important part of my life and Lyla's so to me and hopefully Lyla it's pretty special.

And Buck's (Philip) middle name is Richard. When my husband was growing up he and his dad had a good friend, Rick. About 6 years ago, around Thanksgiving, they were all out in the boat fishing when their boat overturned. They were in the freezing water for 45+ minutes and Rick ended up drowning. We also believe that since that day Rick has been watching over Adam and now our family so we knew we had to name him Philip (after father in law) Richard.

What's your middle name? Does it have any special meaning?
