The crane business.....SUCKS.

My husband fixes, puts together, takes apart and hauls cranes, mostly throughout Oregon and southwest Washington but sometimes has to go a little further.. Which requires him to be away from home for awhile (people don't realize how dangerous this job can be.) He got a call early last week saying he'd be needed Monday (yesterday) at the Huskies stadium, about an hour north of Seattle. I prepare myself for him to be leaving.. Didn't hear anything by Friday so weren't sure if they were going.. Ok, change stuff again for him to be home. We were also on a winter storm watch from late Saturday night until Wednesday afternoon. It has snowed off and on since late Saturday night. Monday morning he calls me and says he's for sure going and has to come home to pack and then head out. Comes home, we say good bye, explain to Lyla that he won't be home for a few days. 2 freakin hours later he calls and says they postponed it because the weather was to bad!

I know that many people have to deal with their spouses leaving for work a lot and they probably know what I mean when I say you prepare yourself for them to be gone. And having to do it repeatedly is kind of exhausting. So crane company my husband works for/weather, get your shiz together and either take him or don't!

Here are some neat pics my husband has taken on the job.

  4. How frustrating! I would have such a hard time if my husband had a job that required him to travel. You are a stronger woman than I!

  5. I get worried when my husband goes away on business trips, I can't even imagine if he had to leave to go on dangerous jobs. Ugh how heart wrenching. Gorgeous pictures
Maybe all this crazy weather has been a huge blessing :-)
