Blog Party 2012

This year I participated in a blog party hosted by Alycia Crowley, Casey Wiegand and Danielle. It was super fun and I got to know a pretty cool chick! Laura from topsy hair! She lives in Utah where her and her husband are trying to get their own salon open! I hope they get it open soon because from what I've seen from her blog she'll be doing people good! She's sweet, funny and genuine, which is always a plus in my book!

Now on to what she sent me!
A little card with some wonderful cocoa butter lotion! And this cute little makeup bag.
Inside the makeup bag was a file/buffer, an awesome red nail polish, heart cookie cutters, chapstick and pink and red starbursts!

Laura is so sweet and I was so excited about her package to me! Everyone needs to go check her out.

  • It's ok that my daughter only wants to eat bananas lately. Could be worse.
  • It's ok that I'm totally jealous of the pregnant ladies.
  • It's ok that I sneak a lindt milk chocolate truffle sometimes. I've been doing awesome working out.
  • It's ok that I used my hubby's deodorant because I couldn't find mine.
  • It's ok that every night that my husband was gone this week and after my daughter was asleep I spent on Pinterest.
  • It's ok that I have almost 1890 pins on Pinterest.
  • It's ok that I bought stuff to make homemade Valentines over a week ago but haven't even started.
  • It's ok that I lost 3lbs but have plateaued. I'll just keep going.

On my heart..

It's POURING again today.. Back to flooding. I'm so thankful that I don't live close enough to any of the rivers for the flooding to affect us. But I feel for those people that do. And I'm sorta hoping my husband doesn't come home from Seattle tonight. I know I was just whining about him being gone but it worries me when he has to drive 4+ hours in this weather after working his ass off and not getting much sleep. It also sucks to have to go out in weather like this. I had to go to the grocery store today because today was the last day that chicken was on sale and we really needed it. Taking a lollygagging 3 year old to the grocery store in the rain = sooooo not fun.

Some thing else that I want to talk about that I'm not sure how to say or if it's ok to talk about but hey, it's honest. But I really hope I don't offend anyone. Anyone who has gone through a miscarriage or fertility issues will understand.. I'm sad that I'm not pregnant yet. I'm doing all the things I need to to get pregnant but it just hasn't happened yet and it makes me sad, maybe a little jealous, that so many people I know in real life, friends of facebook, other bloggers are getting pregnant. I want another baby so bad. I want my husband to have a child of his own flesh and blood (not that he doesn't treat Lyla like she is). I want Lyla to have a little brother or sister, a playmate, a friend for life. If you're a praying person please pray for us.

As I wrote this my husband called and won't be coming home tonight so thank goodness for that. I'd rather him drive all that way tomorrow in the day light.

Lovely Mondays

If you read my blog you know I started working out a few weeks ago. I started doing the treadclimber 3-4 days a week and weights a few times a week. I am also trying to diet. That's actually harder than the exercise! Especially since the exercising it making my more hungry. I'm using the myfitnesspal app which is helping me to keep track of my calorie intake/burning. If you use the app too leave me a comment, we can be weight loss buddies together! I don't think I've made a lot of weight loss progress but the fact that I feel better is great! It just means that I can do it more.
Another lovely thing going on around here is the my little lady and I went to the Red Circle Boutique (Target) today and found some fun stuff in the dollar (2.50$ and under) bins. We got some Valentines stickers because we're planning on making some people some homemade Valentines, some magnetic chip clips, an over the door coat hanger for her room (I've been looking for one forever but I either didn't like them or they were to expensive). And! A pair of jeans, a shirt and cute little sweater for under 10$! Love clearance stuff!

Honesty is the best policy- PYHO

Yesterday I wrote this post and I sort of felt bad for it. I felt bad because my husband doesn't usually have to be gone for my than a week (so far) but my sisters husband has been to Iraq/Afghanistan 4-5 times throughout their marriage and they may also be apart for the next 2 years because of Marines stuff. I have blogger friends who's husbands also travel for work, sometimes for long periods of time.

But I don't feel bad because I will miss my husband, I will worry about my husband. I hate having to explain to my daughter every day that he's gone that daddy won't be home tonight. I hate the lonely nights after she goes to bed. I eat crappier when he's not home too, which is not good for my diet.

I had Mrs. Mackenzie comment on this post telling me that she would have a hard time if her husband travel. I told her that I do but I feel bad about complaining. She told me I shouldn't feel bad because I'm being honest and she likes honest bloggers.

Lately I've read a lot of blog post from women who want to be more honest on their blog and I'm going to follow the crowd and be more honest. I have things I'd like to write about but I don't write it because I think it may bore people. But hey, it's my blog. It's my place to vent, talk stuff out, be excited, whatever.. And I'm going to. So stick with me!

Today I'm linking up with Shell @ Things I Can't Say.

The crane business.....SUCKS.

My husband fixes, puts together, takes apart and hauls cranes, mostly throughout Oregon and southwest Washington but sometimes has to go a little further.. Which requires him to be away from home for awhile (people don't realize how dangerous this job can be.) He got a call early last week saying he'd be needed Monday (yesterday) at the Huskies stadium, about an hour north of Seattle. I prepare myself for him to be leaving.. Didn't hear anything by Friday so weren't sure if they were going.. Ok, change stuff again for him to be home. We were also on a winter storm watch from late Saturday night until Wednesday afternoon. It has snowed off and on since late Saturday night. Monday morning he calls me and says he's for sure going and has to come home to pack and then head out. Comes home, we say good bye, explain to Lyla that he won't be home for a few days. 2 freakin hours later he calls and says they postponed it because the weather was to bad!

I know that many people have to deal with their spouses leaving for work a lot and they probably know what I mean when I say you prepare yourself for them to be gone. And having to do it repeatedly is kind of exhausting. So crane company my husband works for/weather, get your shiz together and either take him or don't!

Here are some neat pics my husband has taken on the job.
